Police officers rescued a 13-year-old boy who was being carried away towards Savudrija

An incident occurred near Fornač when a 13-year-old boy was swimming in the sea accompanied by an adult male. The supervising adult remained on the shore, maintaining visual contact with the teenager. However, the adult eventually lost sight of the boy due to the intense glare reflecting off the sea surface, prompting an immediate call to the police.

The police responded rapidly to the report. Multiple governmental and security bodies were notified regarding the situation, including the Koper Maritime Police Station, the Central Office for Information, the Republic of Slovenia’s Maritime Administration, and the Aviation Police Unit. Authorities immediately alerted all vessels operating in the vicinity about the missing child and initiated an intensive search operation.

Following the organized response, two officers from the police located the 13-year-old boy at a distance of approximately one kilometer from the shoreline. The officers safely retrieved the boy and placed him onto a service vessel, where immediate assistance was provided. Furthermore, medical personnel were requested to attend the scene, and the supervisor for Piran was also informed of the recovery.

The prompt coordination between various agencies allowed for the safe recovery of the young man.
