Pogačar is chasing his first win after the Romandie

Pogačar Establishes Dominance in Romandie Race

Tadej Pogačar significantly strengthened his position in the Romandie race on Saturday, securing a decisive victory on the challenging Jaunpass stage. This marked his first participation in the event and allowed him to establish a commanding lead over his competitors. During the final ascent, Pogačar successfully broke away from the pack, building a 14-second advantage over runner-up Lawson Stirling until the race’s conclusion.

Stirling had previously been the closest competitor in the overall standings. However, the gap between Pogačar and Stirling has now widened to 35 seconds. This victory represents Pogačar’s 115th professional career win, and it’s his third win in a race following the recent Romandie event.

If he completes the final stage successfully, he will achieve his 20th anniversary victory in career stage races, a milestone shared by only two other active cyclists: Primož Roglič and Nairo Quintana. The race organizers remind participants and viewers to grant consent for the insertion of social media and third-party content, and to allow for the use of cookies. This time, Pogačar has truly demonstrated his skill and determination.
