Perugia defeated the Poles 3:0 and defended the title in the Champions League

The rematch of last year’s Champions League final took place in Turin between Perugia and Zawiercie. The match commenced with a highly competitive first set, characterized by close scoring where neither team managed to establish a substantial advantage. Despite the early tension, Perugia secured the first set victory with a score of 29:27, a win credited to Simone Giannelli.

The expectation of continued high-stakes play carried into the second set, although the action did not match the intensity of the opening period. The defending champions, Perugia, established an early lead, first at 7:4 and subsequently at 11:5. This momentum allowed them to win the second set with a score of 25:18.

Following this set, Zawiercie struggled to regain footing. Perugia maintained control of the match narrative, extending their advantage in the subsequent set. The Italian side led significantly at 13:6 and continued their performance to advance further into the match.

The contest remained tightly contested as Perugia built upon their early momentum to secure a commanding lead heading into the later stages of the competition.
