On Tuesday, fuel prices dropped significantly: diesel is cheaper by 12.9 cents

The Ministry of Finance has announced significant reductions in the retail prices of various petroleum derivatives, effective at midnight. These adjustments are intended to alleviate the impact of high energy costs on households. Specific cuts have been detailed for gasoline, diesel, and fuel oil.

The price per liter of 95-octane gasoline will decrease by 6.4 cents, reaching a new rate of 1.519 euros per liter. Diesel fuel is set to see a reduction of 12.9 cents, bringing its cost to 1.753 euros per liter. Furthermore, the price for fuel oil will drop by 13.8 cents, settling at 1.356 euros per liter.

These revised prices will remain in effect until August 17th. Regarding taxation, the Ministry confirmed that the excise duty structure remains unchanged. The excise duty rates for 95-octane gasoline, diesel, and fuel oil are maintained at 0.41759 euros, 0.33000 euros, and 0.07875 euros, respectively.

The Ministry stated that these excise duties have been consistent since mid-June. The government emphasized that this measure, which affects various types of fuel, is being implemented to mitigate the financial pressure caused by elevated energy costs for consumers.
