Thursday’s weather across most of Croatia will be characterized by cloudy conditions and persistent winds. The State Hydrometeorological Institute (DHMZ) predicts occasional rain throughout the day. Simultaneously, the Adriatic Sea will experience strong westerly and northwesterly winds, a forecast that is expected to continue.

Weather specialists are issuing a warning regarding moderate to strong winds, with some areas facing particularly unfavorable northeast and north winds, especially during the evening hours. These winds pose a potential hazard. The Adriatic conditions are expected to be turbulent.

Specifically, along the coast at the foot of Velebit, strong westerly winds are anticipated, with gusts potentially reaching hurricane-force levels. These winds could reach up to 150 kilometers per hour in certain coastal locations. Consequently, numerous ferry, catamaran, and ship connections have been disrupted, particularly within the Kvarner area, encompassing Zadar, Split, and Dubrovnik. The strong winds are significantly impacting maritime travel across the Adriatic.
