Moldavec broke into a house, stole vehicles and fled before the police

The police initiated an operation on Thursday following an incident on the Vipava highway. Officers attempted to halt a driver operating a Fiat Doblo, bearing Italian registration, traveling from the Šempas rest area toward Sel. Despite the use of audible signals and flashing blue lights, the driver disregarded the request and accelerated towards Ajdovščina.

Multiple police patrols were immediately dispatched to the highway, and a stinger device was strategically deployed on the roadway. The driver ultimately stopped one kilometer past the Vipava exit, his tires significantly deflated. He then fled the scene on foot.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the individual was operating a stolen vehicle originating from Italy. Simultaneously, just before midnight, Ljubljana police alerted colleagues in Novo mesto regarding a foreign national in custody. This person was driving a Kia vehicle registered in the Gorizia area.
