Zvezdan Mitrović Awarded Top Coaching Honor
Zvezdan Mitrović was presented with the prestigious award marking his first time receiving the recognition. The accomplished coach has previously achieved significant success across multiple European leagues. Mitrović was instrumental in leading the Dragons to victory, including being named the best coach of the French league on three occasions (2017, 2018, and 2021), and the best coach in Ukraine in 2009.
During the 2021 European Cup season, Mitrović guided the Dragons to a strong performance, securing 11 wins in 16 regular-season matches and a place in the group of eight best teams. The Ljubljana club subsequently advanced to the second phase, finishing sixth and earning a direct qualification for the final. Looking ahead, Cedevita Olimpija, under Mitrović’s direction, will compete in the quarterfinals against Red Star of Belgrade.
The initial game of the series is scheduled for next Thursday in Belgrade, with the second game taking place in Ljubljana on May 12th at 7:00 PM. A potential third and decisive game is set for May 1st at 7:00 PM in Stožice.
