Tadej Pogačar has a challenging sequence of stages remaining in the Tour de France. With two flat stages and three demanding ones left this week, he remains 3 minutes and 36 seconds ahead of Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) and 4 minutes and 6 seconds behind Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe). During today’s race, Pogačar was hampered by the fall of several sprinters in the closing kilometers, alongside the main favorites.
However, all riders were credited with the main time gap due to regulations governing the final five kilometers. The race featured two Slovenian riders, each fulfilling distinct roles within their respective teams. Matej Mohorič (Bahrain-Victorious) attempted an breakaway but was ultimately unsuccessful in establishing a lasting lead.
Meanwhile, Jan Tratnik managed a relatively calm day for his teammates at Red Bull. The day’s course included sections of flat terrain, which contributed to some difficulties for the sprinters; nevertheless, they managed to complete the stage. Looking ahead, the remaining stages will test the riders significantly.
