Macron sang a chanson, the Armenian premier played drums

European Leaders Conclude Summit in Yerevan with Musical Reception

Yerevan, Armenian – A state banquet was held yesterday evening in Yerevan following a summit of nearly 40 European leaders, hosted by Armenia as part of the European Political Community. The event concluded with an unexpected musical performance. French President Emmanuel Macron took to the stage and sang “La Bohème,” a well-known chanson by Charles Aznavour, much to the surprise of attendees.

A French journalist present at the dinner recorded the performance, which included accompaniment from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pasinyan on drums. Pasinyan had previously performed with his group at an informal gathering, creating a notable moment for the guests. Later in the evening, Armenian President Vahagn Khatchaturian joined the performance, playing the piano.

Aznavour, widely considered one of France’s greatest chanson singers, is a significant figure in French musical history. The summit itself brought together leaders from across Europe to discuss key political and economic issues. Permission is required for the inclusion of social media and third-party content.
