Kranjc finished the season as the 15th best giant slalom skier of the winter

The skier expressed his disappointment with his performance this season, stating, “I tried to give my maximum” from his base in Norway. He remains the sole Slovenian male competitor in the super giant discipline. Over the past years, he participated in nine super giant races, achieving only two top-ten finishes – sixth in Copper Mountain and ninth in Sölden.

His performance at the Kranjska Gora event resulted in a 11th-place finish. Notably, the Olympic super giant race in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where he arrived as a silver medalist from the 2022 Beijing Games, proved unsuccessful. He concluded the competition in 12th place.

This season represents one of the worst of his career. He ultimately secured 44th position in the overall standings, accumulating 169 points – the lowest total since the 2016/17 season, which saw him with 155 points. “Generally, this giant season wasn’t what I desired,” he noted.

“The skiing wasn’t at the level I anticipated.”
