Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, a Norwegian star, continues his dominant performance in the sport, a title he’s already secured with six overall World Cup victories. Klaebo, widely considered the undisputed king of the discipline, achieved this success after winning all six possible gold medals at the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina. He’s confirmed his sixth overall title, anticipating the end of the current season.
Today’s qualifying round saw klaebo impressively secure a 2.59-second lead over American Ben Ogden. Following closely were Italian Simone Mocellini and Swedish Alvar Myhlback, separated by just five-hundredths of a second. Four Slovenian competitors initiated the start, but only Vili Črv advanced to the elimination rounds.
Črv ultimately finished 30th, falling short of the final stage. He trailed klaebo by 7.12 seconds after completing a half-kilometer loop, placing 20th in the quarterfinals. Klaebo will compete in the first group with Črv.
