Kaja Juvan took a break again: I hope I will be healthy again soon

Kaja Juvan, the 25-year-old tennis player from Ljubljana, has experienced several career interruptions in recent years. Previously, she took a significant break at the start of 2023 following the passing of her father, and she also temporarily paused her professional activities in the spring of 2024 to focus on personal well-being. Recently, however, Juvan reported ongoing physical difficulties that have hampered her ability to train and compete at an elite level.

Speaking about her current situation, she stated that since March, she has been contending with persistent stomach issues. She explained that despite efforts to resume competition after periods of rest, the combination of pain, nausea, and fatigue has made consistent performance and daily life challenging. The issues reportedly intensified leading up to the Wimbledon tournament.

Juvan noted that although she made every effort to participate, her body ultimately prevented her from competing. Consequently, she has made the decision to cease competition to prioritize rest, followed by attempts to return to play. These ongoing health challenges represent the latest in a pattern of breaks for the athlete.

Her statements underscore the physical toll the illness has taken, necessitating a temporary withdrawal from the demanding schedule of professional tennis.
