The Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) leader, Janez Janša, expressed serious concerns regarding the erosion of trust within the democratic process, stating that tolerating irregularities is fundamentally damaging. Appearing on 24UR NEWS, Janša emphasized that the law mandates a snap election within the designated district. Furthermore, he asserted that district president deputies cannot serve as judges.
Approximately forty commissions were appointed in violation of this established law. Janša argued that if the law dictates a district election, it must occur there. He continued, highlighting the contradiction of having district electoral commissioners where both the president and deputy hold judicial positions.
Notably, he pointed out that only the SDS commissioner voted against the appointment by the state electoral commission. These actions represent clear irregularities, according to Janša. The situation must be rectified to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
He stressed the importance of adhering to the law and ensuring that individuals in positions of authority fulfill their roles appropriately. This is a critical matter deserving of gratitude for the committee’s efforts.
