The representatives from seven political groups convened with President Nataša Pirc Musar today. Tensions persisted between Robert Golob and Janez Janša, stemming from the close election result and the potential lawsuit initiated by Prime Minister Luka Mesec, coordinator of Levica. When questioned about a possible retraction, Golob firmly stated that he would not offer an apology.
He reiterated, “The deadline has already passed, so I don’t understand the continued inquiry.”
Janša responded, asserting that he hadn’t investigated whether Golob and Mesec had submitted an apology after the ultimatum’s expiration. “However,” he added, “if an apology remains not forthcoming, a lawsuit will proceed.” He declined to disclose the lawsuit’s specifics, stating, “We will provide a copy upon its filing.”
Janša outlined a 24-hour period for Golob and Mesec to retract contentious statements, effectively setting the stage for legal action. As previously reported, lawyer Fran is involved in this matter.
The situation remains charged, with the possibility of a lawsuit against Janša looming.
