In relation to the alleged continuous violation of the constitutional order, Robert Golob, leader of the Freedom Party, issued warnings during an opposition discussion with the President of the Republic. Adding to the procedural dispute, four constitutional lawyers advised the left-wing opposition that the ruling coalition’s failure to convene a parliamentary inquiry constitutes a violation of both the state assembly’s rules of procedure and the constitution. These legal experts pointed out that the state assembly is obligated, upon a request from one-third of the deputies, to convene such an inquiry.
The focus of the current political tension revolves around this procedural mandate. The opposition argues that the current actions represent a significant constitutional breach. Conversely, the procedural hurdles surrounding the agenda’s multiple rejections have created a deadlock, leaving the constitutional status of the investigations unresolved as the submission deadline approaches.
