In ‘record-breaking’ atmosphere, the final goal was scored

The scene was one of unprecedented frustration, a situation organizers hadn’t anticipated. Fans endured a two-hour wait, despite a smoothly functioning bus service from Jesenice to Planica. Many arrived at the venue only after the initial team competition series, recognizing that Slovenia wouldn’t secure a particularly impressive outcome.

At that point, the four-man team led by Robert Hrgota held fourth place. The day’s competition began quietly. Domen Prevc faced a significant challenge with his take-off, but skillfully avoided a fall, landing successfully at 80 meters.

This momentarily eased the tension amongst the crowd, a sea of Slovenian flags, which had been silent. The Austrian team ultimately triumphed in the team competition, followed by representatives from Japan and Norway. The overall competition highlighted the demanding nature of the sport and the strategic elements involved in each team’s performance.

The lengthy wait underscored the logistical challenges faced by supporters eager to witness the event.
