Slovenian Moms Connect Through Support Group

A brief moment of concern was evident, but Bojana Jovanovski quickly regained her composure, immediately transitioning to introduce the evening’s guests and focus on positive aspects. The event, organized by a group of mothers, aims to connect individuals with similar challenges. Karmen Sluga, who initiated the support group in April, highlighted Bojana’s proactive role.

“Such Bojana is,” Sluga explained. “She dedicates considerable time to organizing these events, including a recent balloon walk through Kranjska Gora in April – a key month for autism awareness.”

The group’s efforts began with a roundtable discussion followed by a film screening. Bojana is a long-standing local journalist and the mother of Cene, a classmate of Bojana’s son, Boris.

The two children, who attended the same kindergarten and are now in fifth grade together, have developed a close bond. Boris has been a part of the group since kindergarten. The initiative provides a supportive environment for mothers navigating similar circumstances, with Bojana playing a central role in fostering connections within the group.
