High official of Trump: They made you aware that Iran was not a threat to the US

Joe Kent, the director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, has announced his departure from the role, citing his inability to endorse the conflict initiated by the Trump administration against iran. He communicated this decision through a social media-published letter. Kent asserted that iran “did not pose a direct threat to our nation” and that the commencement of this war stemmed from pressure exerted by Israel, alongside a powerful American lobbying group.

The letter was directed to President Donald trump. Kent, a 45-year-old veteran with extensive experience in both the US special forces and the CIA, further detailed his concerns. He claimed that high-ranking Israeli officials and influential American journalists engaged in a “disinformation campaign” last year.

This campaign significantly undermined Trump’s “America first” agenda. Specifically, Kent argued that these individuals deliberately fostered pro-war sentiments and actively promoted conflict with iran, ultimately leading to iran becoming the intended target of US and Israeli actions following the attacks. He felt the situation was not justified.
