Have you received an SMS about a violation and a penalty? ‘Do not respond and delete it’

Since May 14th, the National Cybersecurity Response Center SI-Cert has been recording an extremely large phishing attack via fake SMS and iMessage messages. Until Sunday, the attackers have used 41 different URLs, each of which is registered under a unique domain that has been newly registered. “The attack is very similar in several aspects to the attack we dealt with in mid-December 2025,” they added.

Messages that have been received by many come from foreign phone numbers, and the recipients are addressed under the guise of the Slovenian police or the Ministry of the Interior under the guise of paying a traffic fine. The Police also warns against sending SMS messages to phishing messages, and emphasizes that traffic offenders are never informed via SMS messages.
