Gasly has finally won the trophy that was initially taken away from him for the Monaco Grand Prix

Pierre Gasly secured third place in the Formula 1 championship race after a period of anticipation regarding his final standing. The Alpine team driver initially finished as the third fastest competitor in the prestigious event. However, his official classification was set at seventh place following the imposition of two five-second penalties for exceeding speed limits during pit stops.

Consequently, Isack Hadjar of the Red Bull team advanced to claim a spot on the podium. Following the race, the Alpine team promptly submitted a formal request for a review of the penalties. The team presented evidence suggesting that Gasly had not exceeded the mandated 60 km/h limit at any point during the pit stops and possessed additional data to support compliance with the speed restrictions.

After the complaint was lodged, the official Formula 1 timing body, FOM, acknowledged an error in the distance measurement used for the pit stops. This admission from the official timer confirmed that a measurement error had occurred, impacting the initial penalty assessment against the Alpine team.
