The Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (Furs) inspectors are currently operating with significant intensity. They have issued formal warnings to neighboring nations, urging them to bolster their oversight of fuel imports originating from Slovenia. It’s important to note that Slovenia has not implemented an export restriction on fuel.
However, restrictions on fuel imports into the country are in effect. The government has announced a price increase for fuels, specifically 12 cents more per liter for diesel and fuel oil. This adjustment reflects the current market conditions.
Furthermore, inspectors at border gas stations, situated along the borders with Italy and Austria, are conducting routine checks on fuel dispensing, particularly into portable containers. Currently, observations indicate that foreign individuals are primarily filling their vehicle’s tanks, rather than containers. This behavior is being closely monitored, and inspectors will continue to observe this trend over the next few days.
Boštjančič emphasized that this approach, concerning fuel, has proven effective during previous crises. Slovenia’s response demonstrates a proactive strategy to manage the situation.
