Janez Krašnja, the head of Fraport Slovenija’s airport services, highlighted the significant addition of a new route to Edinburgh for Ljubljana Airport. He stated that this connection represents a major development for the airport. Following Easyjet’s establishment of a route to London twenty-two years prior and a route to Manchester last year, this marks the third direct connection to the United Kingdom.
Jürgen Deischl, managing director of Fraport Slovenija, further emphasized Easyjet’s longstanding importance as a key partner for the Ljubljana airport. He expressed satisfaction that this collaboration is expanding, now encompassing a third destination. EasyJet will operate twice-weekly flights between Ljubljana and Edinburgh, scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays.
These flights will utilize an Airbus A320 aircraft, capable of accommodating up to 186 passengers. One-way flight prices are currently set at approximately 36 euros. This new route strengthens Ljubljana airport’s connectivity and provides passengers with increased travel options.
The expansion demonstrates a continued commitment to developing air services from the airport.
