A former Member of Parliament and member of the SD presidium announced his withdrawal from active party politics. According to reports from Večera, in his statement of departure, the individual indicated that the time had come to conclude certain chapters to uphold their original principles. He noted that the current political environment offers limited room for detailed, substantive debate and considerations for long-term development.
Consequently, he stated his decision to step back from party political activities while extending wishes of success to the Social Democrats in their ongoing work. The individual, identified as Franc Trček, confirmed that his professional association with the party structure will not end entirely. He will remain employed at the Ministry of Local Government, Cohesion and Regional Development, a post he held during the tenure of Minister Aleksander Jevšek (SD).
Speaking to Večer, Trček indicated that he intends to remain a critical observer of both political developments and social events. While Trček was reportedly unavailable for comment to STA, his departure from the party’s executive roles marks a significant shift. His continued role at the Ministry also underscores a separation between his political advocacy and his professional administrative duties.
