An Austrian family in Italy was involved in a tragic drowning incident, according to reports. Following lunch, the family returned to their apartment to rest. Inside, the mother was in one room with two children, while the father remained in the living area with his four-year-old daughter, who was playing nearby.
When the father left the room for approximately ten minutes, the four-year-old daughter exited the apartment and went towards the hotel pool. Surveillance camera footage captured the girl descending the stairs from the hotel premises to the pool area. Approximately ten minutes later, two teenagers discovered the child in the pool.
The four-year-old was immediately pulled from the water, and assistance was urgently sought. A hotel guest, who is a doctor, immediately began resuscitation efforts. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after, continuing the rescue procedures.
Despite immediate intervention, the girl later passed away at the hospital. State prosecutors have since become involved in the investigation into the incident.
