Bank Card Payment Project Set to Launch Nationwide by Year’s End

A bank card payment project for public transport is nearing completion following successful initial testing conducted in February between Brnik and Ljubljana. According to project director, Marko Sečki, the service is now poised for a wider rollout across Slovenia, scheduled for implementation in May and June. The project, currently in the production phase, is expected to be fully operational before the end of the year.

Passengers will soon be able to purchase tickets directly through the company’s website. Sečki highlighted the project’s technical readiness, stating that final logistical and administrative details are being addressed. “Technically it is already ready,” he explained, “and we anticipate a launch before the year concludes.”

Alongside the card payment system, the Ljubljana bus station is also slated for completion by the end of the year.

This integrated hub will centralize passenger information, consolidating static and dynamic data into a single platform. “Currently, passengers require multiple sources to obtain necessary information,” Sečki noted. This new system aims to streamline the passenger experience and represents a significant advancement in public transport accessibility.
