The Congress Square festival will return, focusing on music, creativity, social interaction, and the sharing of diverse personal narratives – stories often marginalized by society. During a recent show, festival head Boštjan Kotnik and actress and long-time volunteer Lea Cok discussed the importance of human connection.
Kotnik shared insights from his own life, recalling his upbringing in Podvelka, a small community situated alongside the Drava River. Kotnik described his childhood as a strong sense of community, where residents relied on one another for support. “It was actually a community,” he stated, recalling a time when neighbors assisted each other, cared for children, and maintained close relationships.
