Traffic Accidents Continue on Primorska Motorway Despite Regulatory Checks
Despite a recent surge in traffic accidents, Darz, the motorway operator, maintains that it is operating in compliance with all relevant legislation, technical guidelines, and established standards. The operator stated that it is implementing measures to ensure the safety of all road users. Following concerns raised about the section between Razdrt and Ravbar Komenda on the Primorska motorway, where ongoing construction work is taking place, the police conducted multiple inspections of the traffic arrangement and signaling.
These inspections reportedly confirmed adherence to regulatory requirements. However, approximately fifty traffic accidents have been recorded in the area over the past two months. Legal expert Blaž Kovačič Mlinar has raised questions regarding accountability, citing Article 327 of the Criminal Code, which addresses criminal liability in cases of traffic accidents endangering individuals.
The ongoing accidents highlight a significant safety concern on the motorway. Authorities are currently examining the situation and assessing the responsibilities of the highway maintenance company. Further investigation into the cause of the accidents and potential preventative measures is underway.
