Marquez Undergoes Surgery, Faces Catalonia Race Absence
Spanish motorcycle racer Marc Marquez has undergone successful surgery on his right foot and arm following an injury sustained during the Le Mans sprint race. He has subsequently commenced his recovery process in Madrid. Due to the limited timeframe between the Le Mans and Catalonia Grand Prix, Francesco Bagnaia will be the only rider representing the Ducati factory team at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Bagnaia will pilot the Ducati Panigale red machine from Borgo. The circumstances surrounding Marc Marquez’s return remain uncertain. Following the fall in Le Mans, which resulted in a fractured foot, Marquez was treated at a Madrid clinic.
As a result, he will be unable to compete in the Catalonia Grand Prix. Seven-time MotoGP World Champion Marquez is currently focused on his rehabilitation. The timing of his return to racing is yet to be determined.
This leaves Francesco Bagnaia as the sole representative for the Ducati team at the upcoming race.
