Driving in Slovenia: where will traffic be obstructed?

Po Sloveniji Cycling Race to Utilize Temporary Road Closures

The 32nd International Cycling Race Po Sloveniji will take place across Slovenia from today, June 18th, until Sunday, June 21st. Organizers and law enforcement officials have announced the implementation of temporary mobile roadblocks to ensure the safety of participants and spectators throughout the event. Road closures will be established at numerous points along the race route, particularly during stage starts and finishes.

These closures will extend for several hours and involve the expansion of the race caravan, necessitating a significant disruption to traffic. Specifically, traffic will be stopped for a longer period at key sections, including climbs and the final stages of each race leg. The extended caravan will remain closed to through traffic during these times.

The first stage of the race will connect Velenje and Rogaška Slatina, traversing the Savinja and Savinja Valley, and passing through the Celje area between noon and 3 p.m. Authorities are urging the public to plan their travel routes carefully and to adhere to any temporary traffic restrictions implemented during the race. Details regarding specific road closures will be communicated by race organizers and local police.
