Marco Bezzecchi asserted the importance of the premier MotoGP class following his recent string of victories. The Italian rider secured his fifth consecutive race win in the Royal Class at the Austin Grand Prix, marking a historic moment for Aprilia. Bezzecchi’s dominant performance has seen him claim the last five races, establishing a significant lead in the championship standings.
At the recent test at the Virginia International Speedway, the 27-year-old achieved a notable accomplishment, surpassing a record set more than a decade prior by legendary Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo. He now holds the record for the most consecutive laps led in MotoGP, accumulating 121. This milestone underscores Bezzecchi’s exceptional skill and consistency throughout the current season.
Speaking after the race, Bezzecchi stated, “I knew we would be dominant at the beginning of the season, but the real indicator of strength will be Europe.” The rider’s continued success builds upon a strong performance that began at the close of the 2023 season, solidifying his position as a leading contender in the premier motorcycle racing class.
