Di Giannantonio fastest at the warm-up

Di Giannantonio Leads in Jerez Free Practice One

Fabio Di Giannantonio of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team secured victory in the opening free practice session at the Jerez circuit for the MotoGP Nations’ Championship. The session highlighted early competitive dynamics within the MotoGP field. Di Giannantonio initially established a lead, briefly holding the top spot and appearing poised for dominance on the Spanish track following a strong start to the season.

However, as the session progressed, Marco Bezzecchi, supported by the Marquez brothers, steadily gained ground. By the end of the session, Bezzecchi ultimately finished fourth, unable to maintain the pressure exerted by Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli. The performance underscored a competitive opening to the season.

Adding to the intrigue, nine-time world champion Marc Marquez made a courageous return to action, demonstrating promising speed. Despite ongoing recovery from a hand injury sustained at the close of the previous season, Marquez was able to contend for a position among the fastest riders. The results from this initial free practice session will undoubtedly shape strategies for the remaining sessions as teams and riders assess track conditions and begin to refine their setups in the MotoGP championship.
