Slovenian text: Mayor Matjaž Kopše stepped in front of cameras in the afternoon and explained the situation: “We have been hit by an unexpected storm on the night of June 9th to 10th. This is a catastrophe for our municipality, to put it in one word. Approximately two-thirds of the municipality’s 38 square kilometres are affected.” There are more than 50 avalanches on the roads, two bridges on the state road have been destroyed or damaged: “The bridges on municipal and local roads and public paths are also damaged or destroyed.
We have 82 kilometres of public roads and local roads, eight kilometres of access roads, and about six kilometres of forest roads. As I said, approximately two-thirds of the municipality are damaged.” “The damage will be measured in millions of euros” The first interventions began yesterday around 7:00 pm: “The rain had already started earlier, but it was not until after 9:00 pm that the storm hit us.”
