Destructive storm: ‘If the municipality remains alone, we can simply close the municipality’

Slovenian text: Mayor Matjaž Kopše stepped in front of cameras in the afternoon and explained the situation: “We have been hit by an unexpected storm on the night of June 9th to 10th. This is a catastrophe for our municipality, to put it in one word. Approximately two-thirds of the municipality’s 38 square kilometres are affected.” There are more than 50 avalanches on the roads, two bridges on the state road have been destroyed or damaged: “The bridges on municipal and local roads and public paths are also damaged or destroyed.

We have 82 kilometres of public roads and local roads, eight kilometres of access roads, and about six kilometres of forest roads.
