Chaotic at Ljubljana railway station

Significant modifications are scheduled for the central railway infrastructure serving Ljubljana, with several major closures taking place over the coming weeks before services resume to normal operating patterns. Today marks the final major closure of the central railway platforms. However, service disruptions continue into the next period.

On August 10, the Kamnik railway will be completely shut down until August 22, during which time all train services will be substituted by bus transport. Additionally, the Dolenjska railway will undergo phased closures: from August 10 to August 11, the Ljubljana–Škofljica route will be affected, followed by closures from August 12 to August 30 for the Ljubljana–Rakovnik segment. Furthermore, the temporary platforms located at Masaryk and Njegoš are scheduled to close tomorrow.

Slovenian Railways forecasts that the full resumption of passenger train services to the main central platforms in Ljubljana is expected on Monday, August 31, the day preceding the start of the academic year. The comprehensive construction work is anticipated to conclude during the second half of October. These ongoing adjustments are necessary as the railway network undergoes significant upgrades.
