Call to employers in BiH before the game: Adjust working hours

Bosnian footballers secured third place in Group B of the World Cup held in Canada, Mexico, and the USA, following a 3-1 victory over Qatar on Wednesday. The team is scheduled to play its first knockout stage match on Thursday at 2 a.m. local time.

In response to the tournament and the anticipated game day, the Federation of BiH government issued a resolution, proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. This directive recommends that local employers consider postponing the start of working hours on Thursday, if feasible. Furthermore, the resolution advises allowing employees who wish to do so to utilize their accrued annual leave.

In parallel measures, the government also advised local government units to extend the operating hours of restaurants until 6 a.m. This measure aims to accommodate citizens who wish to gather and watch the national team compete. These details were reported by the Ministry on Tuesday.

The governmental actions underscore the coordination between sporting events and civil life within bih. The recommendations are intended to ease the impact of the early morning match on daily routines, providing flexibility for both workers and residents. The measures reflect a concerted effort by the local authorities to support the viewing experience for Bosnian fans while managing the logistical demands associated with the international tournament.
