Slovenian Government Finalizes Agreement for Helicopter Purchase

Ljubljana – The Slovenian government finalized an agreement with Leonardo for the purchase of HNMP helicopters, according to Health Minister Valentina Prevolnik Rupel. This new regulation replaces the longstanding general agreement between the health insurance fund and healthcare providers, an agreement that had remained unsigned until the end of November. The current regulation largely mirrors the framework established last year, incorporating several key extensions to existing programs.

Specifically, the government has implemented additional support for healthcare providers who acquired new medical equipment during 2023, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scanners. “The hospital that received this new medical equipment in 2023 has naturally now also received the program with this regulation to start using this equipment and to provide services,” Minister Prevolnik Rupel stated. The regulation introduces a payment system designed to facilitate the utilization of these newly acquired technologies and ensure continued access to advanced medical services.
