Slovenian text: This year’s World Bee Day is under the slogan “Together with bees for people and planet – a partnership that keeps us all alive”, highlighting the key role bees and other pollinators play in agro-food systems and the health of our planet’s ecosystems. “Bees and people have shared a close and evolving relationship for thousands of years, with communities around the world relying on bees for food and survival, often becoming part of their cultural identity,” the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said. At the same time, they warned about the decline in bee, pollinator and other insect populations.
“Today’s Day offers us an opportunity to promote measures that will protect and improve pollinators and their habitats, improve their health and the health of our planet’s ecosystems.”
