Big Foot Mama marked a significant milestone last year, celebrating their 35th anniversary in a manner that was understated and genuine. The event wasn’t characterized by grand displays or excessive fanfare, as the band consciously chose to depart from the concert hall, which they aptly termed “the unoccupied fortress,” alongside Alen Steržaj and Jože Habula. They then integrated with the band, welcoming Urša Mihevc, a vocalist from the group Fed Horses, a collaboration they hadn’t previously experienced.
Steržaj eloquently described the unique sensation, noting, “It was a completely different feeling. When you encounter all these frequencies, you don’t acclimatize, and they genuinely enhance the experience.”
He explained that the interaction offered less direct engagement with the instruments compared to simply listening to them. The big foot band has amassed a substantial catalog of hits throughout their history, making it challenging to select all the songs performed during live performances.
Their enduring success reflects a consistent dedication to musical exploration and innovation, solidifying Big Foot Mama’s place as a prominent force in Slovenian music.
