Bezzecchi has undergone surgery, aiming for a return to Silverstone

The Aprilia team confirmed that Marc Bezzecchi suffered a left-hand key joint fracture following a significant crash during qualifying at the German Grand Prix. Consequently, the Italian rider underwent necessary surgery, which was performed by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini at a hospital located in Modena.

Bezzecchi is currently undergoing rehabilitation following the procedure. The MotoGP Caravan departed Germany on Sunday, marking the start of a well-deserved summer break. Bezzecchi intends to utilize this time for recovery, with the goal of potentially returning to competition at Silverstone in the UK.

Silverstone is scheduled to host the first race following the break, from August 7th to August 9th. The confirmation of the medical intervention was noted publicly, with Marc Marquez acknowledging that Bezzecchi had successfully undergone the surgery at the university hospital. The incident required immediate medical attention, resulting in the diagnosis of a fracture to the left wrist joint.

The surgery was undertaken to address the injury sustained during the intense qualifying session. The focus now shifts entirely to the rehabilitation process for Bezzecchi. The team and the rider are concentrating on a measured return to peak physical condition to meet the schedule for the upcoming races at Silverstone.
