Marco Bezzecchi, a leading figure in the elite MotoGP motorcycle class, returned to racing with strong performances following a left wrist fracture sustained during qualifying for the German Grand Prix. During the second free practice session at Silverstone, Bezzecchi demonstrated significant pace, outperforming competitors such as Raul Fernandez and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Bezzecchi secured the race victory on Friday, achieving the fastest lap time during the day’s events.
However, the Aprilia rider acknowledged that his physical condition was not fully recovered from the injuries sustained at the Sachsenring circuit. He noted that the lingering effects of those injuries were still apparent during the session. Regarding his performance, Bezzecchi stated that maintaining pace was challenging.
He explained, “I’m struggling. When I have to drive four, five laps in a row, I suffer, so I was very tired at the end of the session. The injuries were serious.”
Despite these physical limitations, Bezzecchi managed to secure the win on Friday.
His return to top-tier competition, marked by a victory and pole-sitter performance, indicates a strong comeback effort, even as he manages the residual effects of previous injuries.
