Central Bank Revises Economic Forecasts, Anticipating Moderate Inflation Trends

The central bank has revised its economic forecasts, projecting a slightly altered trajectory for GDP growth and inflation over the next two years. The updated forecast indicates a 0.2 percentage point reduction in GDP growth for the coming year, with a subsequent 0.1 percentage point increase projected for 2028. These adjustments represent a deviation from the central bank’s December 2019 forecast.

Inflation is expected to demonstrate a downward trend. The central bank now anticipates a deceleration from 3.6% in 2027 to 2.3% in 2028. Initial projections for 2027 indicated a 2.2% increase in consumer prices.

Looking ahead to 2028, the central bank forecasts inflation will rise by 0.3 percentage points, moving closer to the European Central Bank’s target of approximately two percentage points. These revisions reflect ongoing assessments of economic conditions and incorporate current market expectations regarding inflation. The central bank continues to monitor these projections closely and will adjust its forecasts as new data becomes available.
