Severe Weather Impacts Across Slovenia

The RS Emergency Management Centre reported significant disruption across Slovenia due to strong wind storms and heavy rainfall throughout the day. Numerous trees were downed, and several buildings were flooded as a result of the intense weather conditions. The centre recorded multiple incidents, with the highest concentrations of activity in the regional centres of Celje, Kranj, Ljubljana, and Nova Gorica.

A single event was also reported in Škofljica, Ig, and Dolu pri Ljubljani. A total of 22 firefighting units were deployed to address the situation, working from early morning until the afternoon. Investigations revealed that lightning strikes caused damage to a residential building, triggering a fire, and also impacted a tree.

Meteorological forecasts indicate continued unsettled conditions. Individual thunderstorms are expected throughout the afternoon and evening, with localized east winds. Daily high temperatures are predicted to range from 29 to 33 degrees Celsius, reaching 36 degrees Celsius in the Primorska region.

Authorities advise residents to remain vigilant and aware of potential hazards. The situation remains under close monitoring as further developments are recorded. Several buildings were flooded during the event.
