Marquez to Undergo Medical Check for Czech National Return
Gresini Racing announced that Alex Marquez will travel to the Czech Republic this weekend, seeking a clearance to compete in the national event. Following medical evaluations in Spain, Marquez will undergo official assessments on Thursday to determine his fitness. The injury occurred during the main race at the Catalonia Nationals, where Marquez fell during the 12th lap.
The incident followed a technical failure experienced by Pedro Acosta while accelerating. Marquez, positioned directly behind Acosta, was unable to avoid a subsequent crash. The fall prompted a red flag and a prolonged interruption, during which race organizers confirmed that Marquez was conscious.
He was transported to a local hospital and subsequently underwent surgery to repair a fractured right clavicle. The injury was stabilized with the insertion of a metal plate. The outcome of Thursday’s medical check-up will be crucial for determining Alex Marquez’s participation in the Czech Nationals.
The team will await the results before confirming his availability for the weekend’s races.
