On July 10th, at approximately 9:28 AM, the Regional Information Center in Nova Gorica alerted police services regarding a natural environment fire on the slope of the Renč mountain within the municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica. Authorities reported that the blaze had consumed an area of approximately 200 square meters of undergrowth and grass; however, no material damage was reported. A significant response effort was mobilized, involving several dozen firefighters.
Personnel from PGD Kostanjevica na Krasu, JZ GRD GE Nova Gorica, and PGD Renče-Vogrsko arrived promptly at the scene. In addition to the initial emergency response, police officers from the Nova Gorica Police Station and members of the State Unit for Protection against Explosive Weapons of the Northern Primorje Region were also present to assist. The combined efforts of the firefighters allowed the fire to be quickly localized and brought out.
Once the main body of the fire was extinguished, crews continued operations by systematically spraying the edges of the affected area and addressing individual hot spots to prevent any chance of re-ignition. The swift action of the responding firefighters ensured the incident was contained rapidly. The successful operation concluded with all units confirming that the blaze was fully out and under control.
