After the first lap: Pinheiro Braathen in the lead, Kranjec 14.

Austrian Stefan Brennsteiner secured second place (+0.21), while Swiss Loic Meillard achieved third (+0.63) in the recent event. The most accomplished Slovenian giant slalom skier was honored to conclude the Slovenian team’s performances ahead of the upcoming World Cup alpine skiing races in Norway. Žan Kranjec finalized the season’s race as the 13th giant slalom skier of the winter.

Initially assigned the number 11 for the first run, Kranjec struggled at the initial position. This unconvincing performance indicates a significant need for focused effort, guided by his coach Roka Šaleja, to maintain a top-ten ranking. Notably, only the top fifteen skiers will accrue points for the World Cup at the season’s conclusion.

Kranjec, representing Slovenia as the sole technical discipline competitor (giant slalom), will compete at Hafjell in Norway to mark the World Cup’s end. The Slovenian team’s success hinges on Kranjec’s ability to perform strongly.
