Group of Migrants Found in Croatia, Several Hospitalized

Netretić, Croatia – On Sunday evening, authorities discovered a group of 13 foreign migrants near the Netretić municipality. Alongside the migrants, the bodies of four men were found, and two others sustained severe injuries. All were transported to Karlovac hospital for treatment.

Further complicating the situation, eleven additional migrants arrived in Slovenia, but were subsequently returned to Croatia. According to hospital staff, the migrants arrived dehydrated and suffering from hypothermia, alongside reported concussions. Medical assessments revealed the group’s condition at the time of arrival.

The initial group was transported in a small truck, carrying a total of 34 individuals. Croatian border management, as reported by HRT public radio, indicated that the truck’s cargo space was packed with migrants. Head of border management, Zoran Ničeno, stated that the smuggler abandoned the vehicle at the border with Slovenia.

Currently, the migrants are receiving care at the hospital. One individual remains in intensive care, admitted on Tuesday, while the other is recovering. Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the individuals involved.
