Two Fatalities Resulting from Head-On Collision in Slovenia

A fatal collision occurred yesterday afternoon near Ptuj, Slovenia, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Police were alerted to the incident around 4:00 pm. A 69-year-old motorist was driving in the opposite lane when he collided head-on with a car carrying a 45-year-old man and his passenger.

According to the General Police Directorate, the older motorist lost control after the impact, falling off the roadway and sustaining severe injuries from which he died at the scene. The passenger in the car, a 63-year-old woman, also suffered critical injuries. She was transported to UKC Maribor for treatment but succumbed to her injuries later that day.

Firefighters from the PGD Ptuj and PGD Grajena responded to the scene, securing the area and temporarily shutting down fire hydrants. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The incident involved an older motorist and resulted in tragic loss of life.
