Man Dies Following Fall in Triglav Area

The Kranj Police Department responded to a reported accident involving a tourist in the Mali Triglav area shortly before 6:00 pm on Tuesday. Initial reports indicate a Dutch national was returning from Triglav when he fell into a steep ravine. According to authorities, the man sustained severe physical injuries as a result of the fall and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A helicopter emergency rescue team from the Slovenian Geological Rescue Service (GRZS) was dispatched from Brnik, alongside a mountain police officer, to conduct an immediate assessment. The coroner and public prosecutor were also notified of the incident. The deceased was subsequently transported from the area to the valley floor via a helicopter operated by the Slovenian Armed Forces.

The Kranj Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and gathering information. They will subsequently report their findings to the competent state prosecutor. A rescue team from Mojstrana also participated in the operation.
