UKC Ljubljana Announces Renovated Nephrology Department Ahead of Elections
Just prior to the March 17th elections, Mark Jug, the general manager of UKC Ljubljana, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renovated nephrology department and made commitments to Prime Minister Robert Golob. Jug stated that by the end of the next mandate, the facility would also include a new gastro clinic, a project he described as a “key acquisition.”
The renovation of the department, where the most immunologically vulnerable patients, including those receiving dialysis and transplant recipients, are treated, is anticipated to significantly improve their living and working conditions. The project focuses on enhancing the environment for both patients and staff.
According to Jug, the updated facility offers substantial improvements. Each room includes a shower and bathroom, and the spaces are designed to be spacious, bright, insulated, ventilated, and provide a greater level of comfort. UKC Ljubljana is the sole center for transplantation activity in Slovenia.
The improvements there are expected to bolster the institution’s position and contribute to the well-being of patients receiving care in the nephrology department. The project represents a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
