Lena Repinc concluded the World Cup season with a performance that foreshadowed upcoming difficulties. At the final stop, the 22-year-old Slovenian athlete achieved a 17th place in the sprint, alongside 13th and 13th place finishes in the pursuit race. She also secured the same position in a race with a group start, marking her inaugural participation in this format.
Repinc initially struggled, incurring an error only on the first shooting post, which dropped her to 24th. However, she quickly recovered, correcting her mistakes and steadily gaining ground. In the concluding skiing segment, she maintained her position flawlessly, successfully defending her place ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot, the overall World Cup winner from France.
Jeanmonnot had closely followed Repinc from the shooting range. Furthermore, the Finnish skier, Suvi Minkinen, presented a strong challenge, ultimately falling just a few seconds behind Repinc over the last two and a half kilometers. Polona Klemenčič was also present.
This season’s results set the stage for Repinc’s future competitive endeavors.
