Customs Officials Seize Agricultural Products During Border Check Near Vukovar
Vukovar, Croatia – Carinik mobile units conducted a routine inspection in the Ilača area near the border with Serbia and stopped a vehicle driven by a Slovenian citizen. The incident occurred while the units were investigating potential smuggling activity in the region. Customs officers initiated a stop of the vehicle based on suspicions regarding the transport of prohibited goods.
A subsequent thorough examination of the vehicle revealed a significant quantity of agricultural products. Specifically, 125.5 litres of herbicides and pesticides were discovered, alongside 3.6 litres of veterinary drugs. Furthermore, four gas cylinders were found, totaling 78.55 litres in capacity.
The Carinik customs officers reported the findings. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are currently determining the precise nature and intended destination of the seized materials. Details regarding potential charges are pending further review of the evidence.
